As every Cherokee release goes by, our user base goes up and up. At the beggining, every new project has to slowly struggle to gain momentum until it finally reaches a critical mass and goes mainstream.

Thanks to our old and incompetent registar some moron stole our domain name, and hence, we have been forced to move to another one.
We knew that the previous domain name was kind of cryptic and hard to remember, so even if we've had to migrate everything (services, website, etc) in a quite precipitated way, I suppose that it might end up being something positive for the project in the short/medium term.
So, please welcome: http://www.cherokee-project.com :-)
A few days ago, I was interviewed for the Euskadi Digital station on the Cherokee project.

It is great to see how more are more people are interested in the project, big sites switching to Cherokee, the project community growing, and as in this case, non IT people learning about the project from the mass media.
The interview is available on-line, you can either download the MP3 file (6,5 Mb) or listen it right now:
.. ah, by the way, it is in Spanish.
Today, Yahoo.es news portal published an interview with me on Cherokee. It basically covers the Cherokee project targets as well as a few personal questions

The original version in Spanish is here, and this is an English translation.
Today, Tiscali's technology portal published an interview with me on Cherokee. It basically covers the Cherokee project targets as well as a few personal questions

The original version in Spanish is here, and this is an English translation.
Yesterday, I was interviewed for the Canal Sur Radio station on the Cherokee project.
I have to say, it is wonderful to see how the popularity of the project grows each day. It is great to see so many people switching to Cherokee.. after these years of work on the project that is the best possible reward! :-)
The interview is available on-line:
- Cana Sur Radio on Cherokee: MP3, about 2,2Mb (10min)
- The full program: "Aviso para Navegantes", Jan 10th 2006: MP3, 14Mb (60min)
.. ah, by the way, it is in Spanish.
EL PAIS (2006-01-06) on Cherokee!! :-)
The article is also on-line (in Spanish): "Un madrileƱo crea el servidor de 'web' libre Cherokee".
EL PAIS is the biggest non-free Spanish newspaper. I guess it is printing more than 2,000,000 newspapers per day.
I'm glad to announce that the Cherokee bounty hunting program is now ready and running.
This initiative provides a number of tasks we would like to get done in the future releases. Each task has an associated prize. If you implement any of them, you will earn the bounty. Isn't it a wonderful way to have fun and earn money at the same time?
This is an initiative we are going to keep running on the Cherokee project. As long as your contributions help to improve the project quality and its diffusion, we will try to pay you back!
I would like to thank DynDNS for supporting this initiative.
